Why are so many companies changing to Gummed Paper Tape?

1) The water activated adhesives in Gummed tape penetrate into the fibres of the carton, creating a total bond. As the tapes have become an integral part of the carton this adds considerable strength to the closure as opposed to just a top surface bond on a standard packaging tape adhesive.

2) Gummed paper tape cannot be removed from the carton without leaving traces of damage unlike standard packaging tapes which can be removed without leaving a trace. Hence Gummed paper tape offers clearly visible truth if a package has been tampered with.

3) Gummed paper tape is made from renewable natural resources which makes recycling easier. It´s 100% recycleable making it the environmentally friendly choice for any packaging professional.

4) Even in extreme temperature variations, the characteristics of gummed tape remain constant. In extreme heat, humidity and cold, the seal retains its strength whilst the seal also remains highly resistant to aging as well as making it the ideal solution for long term storage.
