What Are They Used For? Heat sealers are essential tools where air-tight, tamper-proof, and hygienic seals are needed. For the food industry this helps keep the food fresh and safe to eat. For the pharmaceutical industry they are used for sealing sterile packaging.
Choosing a Heat Sealer
What Are You Sealing?
Determine the product type, bag size, and material. For example, foil coffee pouches or vacuum-sealed food packs require different machines than simple polybags.
Material Compatibility
Make sure that your heat sealer is compatible with your material type:
- Thermoplastics like PE, HDPE, PVC
- Foil or laminated pouches (require direct heat sealers)
Bag Thickness
Measured in microns or gauge, this determines the sealing strength required. Some machines can seal materials up to 800g (2 x 200 microns) and beyond.
Sealing Width
Always choose a sealer that is 20–50mm wider than your bag to ensure a complete seal without overlap.
Production Volume
Low-volume: Use manual or tabletop impulse sealers
Medium-volume: Foot pedal or semi-automatic machines
High-volume: Automatic or band sealers
Additional Features
Consider extras like cutters, foot pedals, bag supports, or modular systems for better ergonomics and efficiency.

Pro Seal Heat Sealers
Pro Seal Heat Sealers are C-type tabletop machines designed for simplicity and space efficiency. C-Type sealers have a clamp style design, where the sealing jaws form a C shape. These sealers are suitable for a wide range of applications and come in five models with sealing lengths ranging from 220mm to 820mm. They can effectively seal polythene up to 200mu, polypropylene up to 80mu, and P.V.C up to 30mu.
The modular design allows users to enhance functionality by adding optional accessories such as a work table and a film roll holder. For environments where hygiene is critical – such as food processing and pharmaceutical production – Pro Seal Heat Sealers are also available in a silver anodised finish.
Opti-Seal Industrial Heat Sealing Machines
The Opti-Seal range features S-type semi-automatic impulse sealers that offer robust performance for industrial use. These machines are capable of securely sealing both pre-made bags and creating bags from roll materials.
The Opti-Seal handle thicker films, sealing polythene up to 400mu, polypropylene up to 150mu, and P.V.C up to 150mu. To enhance ease of use, Opti-Seal machines can be equipped with accessories such as a foot pedal support and a working table with bag support.
Constant Heat Sealer
Designed for demanding applications, the Constant Heat Sealer is a freestanding unit with a treadle-operated sealing head, allowing for hands-free operation. This setup makes it ideal for sealing larger bags quickly and efficiently.
The constant heat mechanism enables it to reach higher temperatures (ranging from 30°C to 200°C), which is necessary for sealing plain and gusseted foil-lined bags. The sealer is available in two sizes, with sealing widths of either 300mm or 600mm.
Automatic Heat Sealer Machine
The Automatic Heat Sealer features an electromagnetically controlled sealing head and includes a foot pedal as standard for convenience. It can seal up to 2 x 150mu (equivalent to 600g) and works effectively on a range of thermoplastic films.
With a sealing time that can be adjusted between 0.5 and 3.5 seconds depending on the selected temperature, this machine offers flexibility and efficiency for various packaging requirements.
Pacplus Impulse Heat Sealer
Ideal for professional but cost-conscious users, the Pacplus Impulse Heat Sealer delivers reliable performance in a compact design. It can be used with layflat tubing or polythene bags up to 2 x 150mu (600g).
Capable of sealing approximately 100 units per shift, the Pacplus range includes four sizes, offering sealing widths between 200mm and 500mm. Models are available with or without an integrated cutter, depending on your needs.
Hand Held Sealer
The Hand Held Sealer offers portability and convenience, and is available in two variants: flat seal and crimp seal. Both models can seal materials up to 2 x 200mu (800g) and have a maximum sealing length of 150mm.
This sealer is ideal for sealing polythene, cellophane, and barrier foils such as those used in coffee bags or pouches. Its compact and portable design makes it an excellent choice for on-the-go or small-scale sealing tasks.
