Shock Watch Impact Indicator

If you ship fragile items you may consider using a shock watch sticker to reduce potential damage. Shockwatch labels allow you to ship sensitive, fragile and perishable goods with confidence, and that greater care will be taken during transportation.

The colourful, attention grabbing labels can be attached directly to your product or its outer packaging. Regardless of what you are shipping, these labels will detect impact and potential mishandling during transportation. Universally recognised in North America, these labels are now becoming more and more popular in Europe. No other shock sensor is more recognised or offers a better reliability record.

How to Use Shock Watch Stickers

A ShockWatch label is a tamperproof, mechanically activated device that contains a vial of red dye. A package, to which a ShockWatch sticker has been attached and to which force has been applied, will indicate that mishandling has occurred by the label’s indicator turning a bright red colour. The label can be used in conjunction with a companion label, which further emphasise the sensitivity of the package.

What type of Impact Indicator?

Five different ShockWatch stickers are available: Green, Orange, Red, Purple and Yellow. They range in sensitivity to impact from Green, being the least sensitive, to Yellow, being the most sensitive.

ShockWatch Labels

The Green is designed to withstand a G-rating of 100G. If a package weighs less than 45kg and is dropped from a distance of 90+cm the dye will break.

The Orange is designed to withstand a G-rating of 75G. If a package weighs over 45kg and is dropped from a distance of 30-45cms the dye will break.

The Red is designed to withstand a G-rating of 50G. If a package weighs less than 45kg and is dropped from a distance of 30-60cm the dye will break.

The Purple is designed to withstand to a G-rating of 37G. If a package weighs less than 45kg and is dropped from a distance of 20-40cm the dye will break.

The Yellow is designed to withstand a G-rating of 25G and is so sensitive that if a package weighing 45kg or less is dropped from a distance of 15-30cm the dye will break.

An online ShockWatch Label guide is available to enable you to purchase the correct label based on size and weight of your package. See the Product Info section on the ShockWatch product.

Alternative Impact Indicators?

There are other products available which can detect whether a package has been tilted or dropped. If you need a product to show that tilting has occurred, you can choose Tiltwatch or Tip N Tell. If you require a label that will tell whether dropping has occurred, you can choose Dropspot or Drop N Tell.

There are also ShockWatch Clips available which work in the same manner as ShockWatch stickers but are attached to the product directly and not the outer packaging.
